I hooked up with some SCA folks at Murdy Park in Huntington Beach last Tuesday and took some photos.

They meet every Tuesday from 7:30 until about 10. There was both fencing and heavy combat. I went there to juggle and make new friends. Some of them are putting together a new pageantry unit so they brought some flags.

I see the Musequest group is a bit slow right now so I'm going to add some new photos to it, and a post. Sometimes we are so busy creating we don't have time to write about it, and other times, when we are in a slump we have nothing to write about.

I've been playing my guitar more. I'm surprised the strings have lasted this long. I even played my mandolin last week. My goal is to play every day. But if its too much like work, my motivation slips away. Just a little each day should make a huge difference, but I have to do it long enough to see results.

I've come to realize I have the basic skills like sight reading, tablature, music theory, and the ability to write lyrics. Somehow it just needs to click so I can do them all together. Learn one new thing a day.

It is hot today at 10 AM so I imagine today will be a scorcher in S. Calif. I'm sitting under a fan. So far we haven't had to resort to air conditioning. It's in the dining room where I never sit, so it's not an efficient use of energy. I guess it would be useful while I was sewing but then I have the iron on so it kind of defeats the purpose. Happy early Solstice everyone. My garden loves the heat.
