Etsy and Shipping
I woke up at 4:30 this morning. So much for sleeping in on a Sat. It's 6 AM now and I think I'll try to get some more sleep.
I was in the Etsy chatroom for awhile and it was nice having others show off my listings in the side bar. I'm amazed at all the people that offer free shipping. They must be losing money hand over fist. But it's so competitive I'm sure they feel they need that edge. I charge for shipping. Why do all that work to make things and then lose money when you sell it? So I probably won't sell much when I'm competing with those that do the free shipping to anywhere in the world. Perhaps they are rolling the shipping cost into their pricing, but their prices are so low I think a lot of them are just paying it out of pocket. They have no profit margin.
